raise the rates by another 50 basis points to fight inflation & giving some stability to ringgit's value, encourage ppl to save more to earn more interest first before spending the earned interest to boost consumption. it also helps to attract foreign funds to Malaysia giving further boost to ringgit's value. Foreign imports will be much cheaper when ringgit's value strengthened

Doesn't really matter and I wonder whether monetary policy is still effective without fiscal policy. It will be nice to post these questions to economists.
